A GREETING FROM THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR

Dear Friends in Christ,

I greet you in the name of our Lord Jesus. Please allow me the opportunity to thank you for your partnership in the Gospel, and for your faithful support and participation in the mission of our church as we reach out, globally and locally, to those who have not fully heard the good news.

There are many exciting things happening in the life of our synods and companion churches. I invite you to engage our churchwide colleagues in conversation about these ministries and explore new ways for your synods and congregations to participate in God's mission of restoring community. Everything we do contributes to God's mission to the world. We need to find ways to strengthen the ministries of congregations and synods as you participate in the global mission of this church deepening and extending the ELCA's relation with companions. And as we do this, we must think together as to how these actions support the common agenda of our church for global mission engagements within the communion of Lutheran churches in the Lutheran World Federation and beyond.

Once again, thank you for your companionship in mission.
